Terms of use

The agreement between you and Claponn Infotech Private Limited, which operates Ampathe. Written in plain language on purpose — terms nobody can read are terms nobody has really agreed to.

Last updated 8 September 2026

The short version

  • Ampathe is companionship and peer support between adults. It is not therapy, not medical care, not dating, and not an emergency service.
  • You must be 18 or over.
  • You pay per minute from a prepaid wallet. Money goes in before it is spent, and the wallet never goes negative.
  • Both people follow the code of conduct. Breaking it ends accounts.
  • We can close an account for conduct. You can close yours whenever you like.

Who you are agreeing with

Ampathe is operated by Claponn Infotech Private Limited, a company registered in India. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person using Ampathe.

Using Ampathe means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

What Ampathe is, and is not

Ampathe connects you with trained human companions for one-to-one conversations by chat, voice or video. That is the whole service.

Companions do not diagnose, treat, counsel or give medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Ampathe is not a substitute for therapy or any other clinical care, and it is not an emergency or crisis service.

Nothing said by a companion is professional advice, and you should not act on it as though it were. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or your local emergency number.

Companions are independent people who choose their own hours and set their own rates. They are not our employees, and we do not guarantee that any particular companion will be available.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to hold an account, as a seeker or a companion.
  • One account per person. Do not share an account or let someone else use yours.
  • Keep your sign-in email secure. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
  • You do not have to use your real name — a generated display name is the default and stays valid.

We may ask you to confirm your identity if there is a safety or fraud concern. Companions are verified as a condition of appearing at all; that process is described on the safety and verification page.

How to behave here

The Ampathe code of conduct forms part of these terms and binds both people in a conversation. In short: nothing romantic or sexual, nothing abusive, no recording, no moving the conversation off the platform, no soliciting money outside Ampathe, and no impersonating anyone.

Breaking it can end your account. Anything romantic or sexual from a companion, anything involving a minor, and any threat of harm end an account immediately and without warning.

Payment, wallet and refunds

Conversations are billed per minute from a prepaid wallet at the rate shown before the conversation starts. The full mechanics are on the Ampathe pricing page, and they are part of this agreement.

  • Billing starts when a companion accepts, not when you call. An unanswered ring costs nothing.
  • Time is counted in whole seconds and cost is rounded down, never up.
  • The charge is capped at your balance. Your wallet cannot go negative and there is no credit.
  • Money added to the wallet is for use on Ampathe. It does not expire, and we do not charge inactivity fees.

Refunds. We refund a conversation that failed because of a technical fault on our side, and one you had to leave because of the other person's conduct. Beyond that, wallet top-ups are generally not refundable to your card — but if something has gone wrong, write to us and a person will look at it rather than pointing at this paragraph.

We may change rates. A change never affects a conversation already under way: the rate is fixed to the session when it starts.

What you say here

What you say in a conversation is yours. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not use it to train anything or to advertise to you.

We store what is described in the Ampathe privacy policy, which forms part of these terms, and we access conversation content only where a safety report requires it. Note the limitation stated there: message bodies are obfuscated, not end-to-end encrypted.

Ending an account

You can stop using Ampathe at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to info@claponn.com.

We may suspend or close an account for breaking the code of conduct, for fraud or payment abuse, or where we reasonably believe someone is at risk. Where it is safe and reasonable to do so we will tell you why. An unspent wallet balance is returned when we close an account, except where it relates to fraud.

What we are responsible for

We provide Ampathe with reasonable care, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we cannot guarantee any outcome from a conversation. Companions are independent, and we are not responsible for what any individual says.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

This is worth restating plainly: Ampathe is not clinical care and not a crisis service. Do not rely on it as either.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed, and material changes will be flagged in the app rather than made quietly. Continuing to use Ampathe after a change means accepting the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Before that becomes relevant: write to us. Most things are a misunderstanding, and every complaint reaches a person. Formal complaints about your data go to the Grievance Officer named on the privacy policy.

These terms are written in plain language rather than drafted by a lawyer. They are intended to be accurate and to be read, but they are not legal advice, and they should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being relied on in a dispute.

If something here is unclear or looks wrong, tell us — that is a bug on a page like this one. Write to info@claponn.com, or use the Ampathe contact page.
