Companionship, anywhere in India
Ampathe is remote-first. Conversations happen by chat, voice or video, which means the service is the same in Bengaluru, in Guwahati, and in a town with no coworking space and no waiting list.
That is not a limitation dressed up as a feature. Support that depends on a catchment area leaves out most of the country.
Why there is no page for your city
Because there is nothing different to say. The companions, the rates and the availability do not change by pincode, and writing six near-identical pages with the city name swapped would be a trick played on a search engine rather than information for you.
If in-person companionship ever launches and is genuinely limited to particular cities, those cities will get real pages — because then the content will actually differ.
Languages, which matter more than cities
What varies across India is not what we can offer but the language you would rather use. Companions are listed by the languages they speak, and you can filter on it before you ring anyone.
For most people that is the filter that matters. Talking about something difficult in your second language is work.
Time zones and late nights
Companions set their own availability, and the directory shows who is online right now rather than who might reply later. If you are outside India and the hours are inverted, that same live view is what tells you whether tonight is possible.
What Ampathe is not
Ampathe is companionship and peer support. Companions are trained to listen — they do not diagnose, treat, counsel or give medical advice, and Ampathe is not a substitute for therapy or any other clinical care. It is not a dating service, and it is not an emergency service.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please call a crisis line instead. Tele-MANAS, the government helpline, is free on 14416 — staffed around the clock, and you do not need an account.
