Code of conduct

Three things Ampathe is not: romantic, sexual, or clinical. Everything below follows from those, and they bind both people in a conversation.

The short version

Ampathe is companionship and peer support between two adults. It is not therapy, not counselling, not medical care, not dating, and not a place to pursue anyone. Conversations stay on the platform. Anyone can end a conversation at any moment, for any reason or none.

Non-clinical

Companions listen. They do not diagnose, treat, counsel, prescribe, or give medical or psychological advice, and nothing said on Ampathe is a substitute for care from a qualified professional.

  • A companion must not offer a diagnosis, even a casual one, and must not tell anyone to start, stop or change a medication or a treatment.
  • A companion who believes someone needs more help than a conversation can give is expected to say so and point to real help, including the crisis helplines.
  • Describing yourself as a therapist, counsellor or clinician on Ampathe when you are not is grounds for removal.

A companion who happens to hold a clinical qualification is still not acting as a clinician here. The role is the same for everyone.

Non-romantic and non-sexual

This is the boundary that keeps the product honest, and it holds in both directions.

  • No romantic or sexual conversation, roleplay, imagery or suggestion, from either person.
  • No flirtation framed as warmth, and no companion cultivating attachment to keep someone talking for longer.
  • No requests for photographs, personal contact details, or social media accounts.
  • No arranging to meet in person, and no moving a conversation to a personal number or another app.

A companion who initiates anything romantic or sexual loses their account. A seeker who persists after being asked to stop loses theirs. The reasoning is on why Ampathe is not a dating app.

Basic respect

Companions are working. That does not make them a service to be spoken to any way you like, and it does not make a hard conversation their fault.

  • No abuse, threats, harassment, or slurs of any kind, toward anyone.
  • No hate directed at anyone for their religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, region or language.
  • No recording a conversation, and no sharing what was said in one.
  • No pressure to continue when the other person wants to stop.

Either person can end a conversation at any point without explaining why. A companion ending a conversation because it crossed a line is doing their job, not failing at it.

Honesty about who you are

You do not have to use your real name — almost nobody does, and talking anonymously is the normal case. Being anonymous is not the same as pretending to be someone else.

  • Ampathe is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, as a seeker or a companion.
  • Companions must be the person their verification documents describe. Sharing an account, or letting someone else take a conversation, ends it.
  • Nobody should claim professional credentials they do not hold.

Money

  • No soliciting payment, gifts, top-ups or favours outside Ampathe, in any form. This is the most common way a companionship platform turns into something else.
  • No asking anyone for money for any reason, including a genuine one.
  • No selling anything, promoting a business, or recruiting during a conversation.

How billing works, and the 80% share companions receive, is on the Ampathe pricing page.

What happens when someone breaks this

Reports go to a person. Depending on what happened, an account may be warned, suspended while we look into it, or removed. Anything romantic or sexual from a companion, anything involving a minor, and any threat of harm skip straight to removal.

Report anything to info@claponn.com, or from inside the conversation. If a conversation ended badly because of someone else's behaviour, you should not be paying for it — tell us and we will refund it.

More on screening and training is on the companion safety and verification page.

If someone is in danger

Ampathe is not a crisis service and nobody here can send help to a location. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please call a crisis line — Tele-MANAS on 14416 is free, always open, and needs no account. In an emergency, call 112.

If something here is unclear or looks wrong, tell us — that is a bug on a page like this one. Write to info@claponn.com, or use the Ampathe contact page.
